Playing In The Mud Never Grows Old!

By Chris Pagano

Owners of the Outlaw Off Road Park located in Jackson are pleased to announce that mud pits have been flooded, mud volleyball teams are forming and lawnmower races are being organized. Kevin and Paula Mayfield who created the park in 2010 paid close attention to important details in making the park a safe, clean and fun place for everyone.

Think about 300 acres to conquer! Extra features include camping grounds, a concession stand, live music, mud volleyball, lawnmower races and a "Kid Zone..." plus a TT track for racing four wheelers, motorcycles, and side-by-sides. The TT track is three quarters of a mile long, 50 feet wide, has seven jumps, two tabletops and a rhythm section. The rhythm section is real uneven and has lots of speed bumps.

"Anything with wheels and an engine is welcome," said Kevin Mayfield. Opening a park like this sprung from all the great times the Mayfield family and their friends had at a similar park in Poplar Bluff. When the drive out there became tiresome, the Mayfield's began looking for property to open their own. "It took about three years, but this property is perfect. We have twice the mud and three times the trails," said Kevin.

Support Local...Shop Farmer's Markets

By Chris Pagano

Okay, so you're ready to support local businesses. Since this area is agriculturally rich
with two growing seasons, perhaps farmer's markets are the place to start. There are logical reasons for consumers to make this choice. Dictated by the economy, the rising price of gas is more than likely to affect the cost of shipped market items.  So you might see a bit of a discount at
l
ocal farmers' markets. But that is not the only consideration.

In the immediate area, consumers have a shopping edge. In Cape and Jackson there are at least four opportunities to shop at a farmer's market-Tuesday,

A Culmination of Expression in Music and Cinematography!

By Chris Pagano

my brothers keeper montage "The video is like a summary of our lives and what we understand about each other…things we mutually enjoy about music, history and life," said Fox.

JACKSON, Mo.--March 8, 2011
The goal of the soon to be released video, My Brother's Keeper, is to be a feature film. The result is a collaboration of the talent from Jefferson Fox of Jackson and Tim Gill of Savannah, GA, creating an artistic video you'll want to watch numerous times. Fox, an eclectic writer who is well known at area clubs also travels nationally to perform as well. Gill is a cinematographer whose client list includes such names as MTV, Food Network, Trading Spaces, A&E, ABC, NBC, FOX and the US Army. Merging the music with visual images in a story plot about human struggles has a powerful effect.  The Dockside Banquet Hall in Cape Girardeau was chosen by Fox to
debut the video "My Brother's Keeper" and the CD,  Chronicles of Harvey, because the musicians who recorded the song, "My Brother's Keeper," are all from the Cape Girardeau area. Fox also said My Brother's Keeper will be used at the National Association for Broadcasting's April convention in Las Vegas, NV--the largest national film convention.

So what can viewer's expect? Well, the scene is set in in all black church in the late 1930s. The lyrics begin with....
