Perhaps
you are a history buff, or maybe you would just like to spend a day
taken back a few eras to a time when the whole planet was an ice skating
rink. Whatever your reason, the Bollinger County Museum of Natural
History in Marble Hill invites you to come see The Ice Age on display. The Ice Age exhibit will take over the museum until April, complete with
historic replicas including the skull of Dee, the largest mounted
Columbian mammoth in North America. Also on display are replicas of
Dima, a baby wooly mammoth found in the frozen Siberian tundra, a huge
bison skull, a dire wolf skull, and several other prehistoric animal
remains and fossils.
Another feature the museum boasts is ever
famous T-Rex. He was approximately 18 feet tall and 39 feet long and
weighing 13,000 pounds or nearly half as much as a Mack truck! T-Rex
will be migrating to a new location in March, so get to the museum to
see it before it's gone!
For the chance to get lost in the prehistoric past, visit the museum Thursday through Saturday, noon to 4:30.
