Crisp Museum Hosting ‘Storyworx’ Summer Academy for Youth

The Rosemary Berkel and Harry L. Crisp II Museum at Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus is hosting “Storyworx,” a five-day summer academy for youth, June 3-7.

Participants will explore story writing, storytelling and illustration through one of three theme workshops, including sci-fi fantasy, mystery and short story. Museum staff and special guests will facilitate this unique, fun learning experience.

19th ANNUAL CHILDREN’S ARTS FESTIVAL AT THE ARTS COUNCIL

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO—Friday, February 1st, from 4 to 8 PM, the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri invites you to attend a reception for the 19th Annual Children’s Arts Festival. This much-loved exhibit, which features visual art pieces and poetry by children from thirty-two (32) regional schools, will be on display until February 23rd.

SUPERHEROES HAVE A HEART FOR CHILDREN FUNDRAISER

 

    The Community Counseling Center Foundation will host a Cottonwood Children’s Center Fundraising Luncheon on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at Drury Plaza Conference Center in Cape Girardeau starting at 11:30 a.m.

    The event will raise funds for Cottonwood Inpatient Diversion/Residential Treatment, Day Treatment, and Outpatient services.   Children’s services help children ages 5-18 (some cases up to 21 years) with chronic and persistent mental health disorders, avoid psychiatric hospitalization and continue to live within the community.
