Southeast Missouri State University is hosting its first ever Lego League Challenge for elementary students, ages 9-14. The theme is ‘World Class’, and the students will be building robots that pose creative solutions for the future of education.
Teams will be presented with an education-themed mission, and build their robots accordingly using LEGO® MINDSTORMS®. Adult coaches are present to assist, but the kids are encouraged to let their imaginations guide them.
Dr. Brad Deken, volunteer coordinator and Chair of Polytechnic Studies, says that the program will, “emphasize contributions of others, friendly competition, learning and community involvement.”
The Event is November 15 in the University Center on the Southeast campus. Admission is free. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
