Eighth Annual Fault Line Film Festival Showcases Regional Student Talent

Southeast Missouri State University students, regional high school students and students from across Missouri and surrounding states will display their cinematic talents and skills in this year’s Fault Line Film Festival at Southeast Missouri State University.

The festival begins with a keynote address at noon on Nov. 8 in the Donald C. Bedell Performance Hall at Southeast’s River Campus. A Gala event and film screening will take place at 7 p.m. Nov. 10 in the Forrest H. Rose Theatre, with an awards ceremony immediately following. All events are free.

VintageNOW 8 Brings Safe House for Women A Step Closer to New Shelter

The Safe House for Women, Cape Girardeau’s service agency for survivors of domestic violence, recently announced a new fundraising campaign to construct a larger, more accessible crisis shelter for women and children.  The Safe Tomorrows Shelter Campaign will provide funds to build a 40-bed facility with features such as a classroom, library, and children’s play area.

The Stars and Stripes Museum in Bloomfield, MO is hosting our 5th annual Liberty Days event on Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This is a free, family-friendly, and educational event featuring a living military timeline. This year's timeline will represent the conflicts during which the Stars & Stripes was printed from the Civil War to the modern era.

Southeast River Campus Showcasing the World’s Most Famous Vampire, ‘Dracula’

 

Based on Bram Stoker’s classic novel, “Dracula” will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 31- Nov. 4 and 2 p.m. Nov. 5 as part of the Rhodes 101 Stops and Commerce Bank Theatre and Dance Series in the Donald C. Bedell Performance Hall at Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus.

Southeast Homecoming 2017 Celebrates ‘We are One’

Southeast Missouri State University invites alumni and students to celebrate “We Are One” with a full week of events Oct. 9-14 as the campus marks this fall Southeast tradition.

“Our alumni theme reminds our graduates that regardless of who they are, where they live, when they graduated and what careers they pursued in the years since they left Southeast, we are all ‘one’ when it comes to our alma mater and the shared experiences we had as students here. Homecoming is a chance for our alumni to reconnect with their past, to enjoy the present and look forward to our future together,” said Jay Wolz, director of Alumni Relations. “Homecoming is a time to reunite with our alumni as well as celebrate with the current community.”

SEMO recognized among the top 100 best regional universities

Southeast Missouri State University has been recognized among the top 100 best regional universities in the Midwest in the 2018 U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges rankings recently released.

Southeast improved its position 10 percent from the 2017 rankings. The University has been consistently ranked by the publication since 1993.
