SEclipse
A university committee, the SEclipse committee, has planned a full-day of activities beginning at 11:00 a.m. and ending that evening with the launch of the annual Speaker Series. Student organizations and campus departments are planning academic lectures and festive outdoor activities throughout the campus.

Description:
Watch the first total solar eclipse visible in Cape Girardeau since 1257 on Monday, August 21, 2017 from the Cape Sportsplex! We'll have free t-shirts commemorating this celestial event for the first 200 attendees, and glasses on hand for the first 1,000. Food trucks will be on hand (2 Sides Grillin', the Melting Co and Andy's Sweet Tooth)
Discovery Playhouse has a Planetarium where you can get a sneak peek of August's events and watch the eclipse happen! Showtimes are Saturdays at 11:30, 1:30 and 3:30 and Sundays at 2:30.

Solarfest will be a two-day festival in downtown Perryville, Missouri to celebrate the Total Solar Eclipse. PBS Kids Exploration Zone
Celebrate the solar eclipse with WSIU and PBS KIDS! Join us Sun, Aug. 20 and Mon, Aug. 21 from 9am-5pm at the EXPLORATION ZONE - located inside the SIU Arena.
Guests will enjoy an exciting day of space-themed activities, exhibits, demonstrations, giveaways and more! Be sure to stop by to snap a selfie with PBS KIDS costume character: Jet Propulsion from the hit PBS KIDS series Ready, Jet, Go! Perfect for children of all ages and free and open to the public.
Shadowfest 2017
19-21st Six vibrant performances, three days of music and one FREE weekend of fun. The City of Carbondale and Carbondale Main Street are excited to announce the lineup for Shadow Fest.
The festival kicks off on Saturday, August 19 with performances by American Idiot, a tribute to Green Day; Big Love, a tribute to Fleetwood Mac; and Elevation, a tribute to U2.
On Sunday, August 20, it’s all about the 80s. Johnny Rock-itt, That 80s Band and Superjam will take to the stage for the ultimate 80s experience. Festival goers can expect to hear hits from Kiss, AC/DC, Journey, Madonna, Prince and more.
Concerts will be held along Washington Street, between Walnut and Main Streets, from 5-11 p.m. Admission to all of the concerts are free.
Monday’s lineup will feature some local talent from 11am-5pm. Updates coming soon.

In celebration, we are planning a four day event complete with Self Contained Camper parking, food, music, and even a special-label release wine! Truly a one-of-a-kind experience. Brazeau is in the heart of things for the viewing. You can view the eclipse at the winery or join the shuttle to view by the river. Shuttle is $5 a person.
Our newest wine will be released this weekend. Totality is a term for when the moon covers the sun. Brazeau is in the path of Totality of the 2017 Great Eclipse. This wine has a limited supply. 25 will be released Friday to the first 25 buyers. Then more will be released during the rest of the weekend to the Day of Totality on Monday.
