The Po' Ramblin' Boys bring Bluegrass to Cape

The Po' Ramblin' Boys (Courtesy of Facebook)Straight out of Gatlinburg, Tennessee where the sounds of Bluegrass thrive, The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys have been set loose on the world. Having toured through the United States and Europe for the past year they will be making a stop in Cape Girardeau for a Bluegrass concert that will take listeners to another era of music.

Concert promoter Leevon DeCourley spoke passionately about The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys, “They keep the tradition of Bluegrass alive while bringing a new flare to it.”  Indeed The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys have all the attributes of traditional Bluegrass with a variety of stringed instruments like banjos, guitars, and mandolins, as well as that trademark southern accent to their singing voices, but the fast paced songs have the energy of modern music.

Leevon has connections to many bands like The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys and hopes to bring them to Cape as well, “Cape is a great place for local music. I want to see more Bluegrass in the area.”

The concert will be held at Port Cape in Downtown Cape Girardeau for what Leevon calls and ‘intimate show’ “Smaller venues play into Bluegrass culture, and most musicians are going the direction of smaller concerts.”

There will be a full bar, and food before or after the concert in the restaurant. As a special incentive the band will have an early release of their new CD, which isn’t scheduled to come out until February.  Tickets can be bought for $10 in advance by calling Leevon at 573-429-0461, or $12 at the door.
