Continuing Education Takes on Fun Curriculum

"You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose." Dr. Seuss And which direction will you choose? Southeast Missouri State University is here to offer you several fun, trendy and informative classes to improve on your existing knowledge or add a new talent and help steer you in any direction you choose!



From the animal lover to the business owner, there is always room to grow and improve knowledge. Whether it's annual training seminars or firsthand experience, we are constantly learning new tricks and tips for our passions. Southeast's Continuing Education classes and programs are offered to assist you in furthering your education with courses that range from Pharmacy Technician program to Cupcake Creations, to Intro to Fly Fishing. The possibilities for education are vast.


Offering programs for test prep, personal enrichment, professional development, youth, and online and computer training, the Continuing Education Department has opportunities for many different learning experiences. With spring classes starting as early as February 16, those seeking education in a new hobby or those wishing to expand on their expertise are welcome to join in the continuing education classes. Classes are open to the public.


For the socialite, learn the art of Ballroom and Social Dance or Intro Into Swing Dance with both programs offered at a singles or couples rate. For the businesspeople, check out the Handling Mistakes program (part of the Dale Carnegie improvement series) to learn techniques for efficiently and successfully taking corrective action in the workplace. For the hobby seekers, courses are offered in cigars, disc golf, and photography to name a few. For the gourmet in us all, there are offerings for coffee, cupcakes, and a cooking extravaganza. Lest we forget arts, there are opportunities for families to both participate together, as well as individuals to improve in the ares of floorcloth, embellished furniture, as well as others. Also offered are regional courses, casino tips and tricks, and more. Courses can be found online.


Classes are affordable with several offered at a senior citizen discount as well as Southeast employees, students and alumni discounts. There is the bundle and save option that gives you the opportunity to attend multiple classes with discounts and affordable savings. Courses range in time from one day to several weeks.
