The SEMO District Fair in Arena Park is just around the corner and as the cooler September weather makes its way to the heartland, visiting the fair is a perfect way to welcome fall. Full of games, food, and entertainment the SEMO Fair offers fun for folks of all ages.
There will be several great deals on admission and tickets. Two for Tuesday lets you buy two tickets for five dollars as well as two armbands for the price of one. Thursday is now “Thrifty Thursday” with three dollar general admission, and $15 armbands. On Friday you can get $13 armbands for all rides and ages.
Musical entertainment this year will feature Crowder at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, The Charlie Daniels Band at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, and Blackberry Smoke at 8 p.m. on Thursday. Other entertainment includes Heartland Idol on Monday at 7 p.m., and a Hot Rod Truck and Tractor Pull Friday and Saturday. The purchase of grandstand tickets also includes entry to the fair as long as they are bought online in advance.
The annual fair parade will take place on Saturday the 9th at 9:30 a.m., starting in Capaha Park, and working it’s way to the fairgrounds. The parade is great for all the free candy but come out and say hello to many local businesses participating.
The SEMO District Fair takes place September 9-16 on the fairgrounds at 410 Kiwanis Drive in Cape Girardeau. Visit their website for all the details.
