The 2018 Maple Syrup Festival

Sweet, sticky deliciousness fresh from the tree straight to your plate! The 2018 Maple Syrup Festival is a fun and educational family event which the whole family can enjoy.  The Maple Syrup Festival takes place at the Touch of Nature Center near Makanda, Illinois on February 24th & 25th.

 If you’ve ever wanted to observe a blacksmith, lumberjack, beekeeper or learn about Hide tanning and primitive living skills The Maple Syrup Festival is the place to do just that.

Not only will there be fun activities scattered throughout the day, delicious breakfast and amazing demonstrations but talented vendors will be set up to share their handy work with you. There will be woven baskets, goat milk products, natural soaps, handmade jewelry, wood and pottery products and so much more!

This activities are free, but there is a charge for the pancake breakfast. The price for the breakfast is: $12 - ages 13 and up, $6 - ages 6 to 12, Free - ages 5 and under.  Breakfast is served 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. both days and you will need to register in advance for the Pancake Breakfast.  (Click Here to Register)
