Longshots Relocating to Town Plaza

There has been a lot of commotion at the old Pink Galleon in Cape the last few weeks. Along with the commotion has been a lot of interest in what may be going into the empty space. I had the opportunity to speak to Reed and Elizabeth Edmundson and Junebug Radford to find out just that.  They are the owners and manager of Longshots, currently located on Kingshighway in Cape, and they are bringing that bar to the old Galleon space in the Town Plaza.

The doors to the new location will open on March 31st but a big Grand Opening/Anniversary/Birthday party is set for April 11th. The regular business hours will be Monday-Friday from 2pm-12:30am and Saturday from 4pm-1:30am.

The owners sated that their vision for Longshots is a place that everyone can have fun whether that be by dancing, playing pool, listening to live music, watching the game, or throwing darts. The changes in the interior of the building have been made with that in mind. It was quite a shock to walk into the old Galleon building and see the inside so drastically different. Gone is the hot pink and pirate decor and it has been replaced with darker walls. The floor plan of the space is very similar to the way it was but more games have been added. More TVs have been added to ensure that wherever you are in the bar, you will have a great view of the game. A new digital jukebox has been added guaranteeing that there is always music to dance to.

Longshots has no shortage of fun things to do. Junebug and Elizabeth told me about different theme nights they were working on including a poker run that they are involved in on April 28th, a sumo wrestling night, and even a Chippendales night in May.  They plan on having live music every Saturday night. The first big event they have planned is the Grand Opening/Anniversary/ Birthday party on April 11th. It is Longshots’ 4th Anniversary and Reed’s Birthday (oddly enough, they didn’t tell me how old he was!), so they are planning a huge celebration complete with entertainment by Matt Steel. Be sure to stop by, wish Reed a happy birthday, have a drink, and dance!

What I was so impressed with was not only the plans for the new location but how genuine Elizabeth, Reed, and Junebug were. They cater to their customers and want to ensure that they have the best experience possible at Longshots. During our interview, I mentioned that my favorite beer is rarely available at bars in Cape. A couple days later, Reed asked me what it was and told me that they would have it in stock for me! They believe that the secret to success is to treat their customers like family and create an atmosphere where everyone can have a good time. So go to Longshots, where a good time is not a long shot!
