By Emily Sladek

July 31 through August 3 marks the dates of the St. Francois County Fair in Park Hills, MO. The fair promises another fun and exciting year.

With the catchphrase "Everything Under the Sun," the fair is certainly not understated. The festivities range from livestock exhibits to demolition derby, truck and tractor pulls to games and fun for the kiddos, live music to a cowboy mounted shoot. Each day holds exciting events for all to enjoy.

The livestock exhibits will be in place each day with different categories being entered, judged and prizes awarded throughout the fair. Carnival rides will also be open each night of the fair from 5-10pm Wednesday through Friday and on Saturday they will be open from 1-4pm & 5-10pm.

Headlining events of the fair promise great entertainment each night. On Tuesday, don't miss the Queen Pageant at 5pm and the Junior Horse Show at 7pm. Featured Wednesday is the Sale of Champions Jr. Livestock Auction at 6:30pm.

Thursday turns up the action with the Lawnmower Derby and Races at 7pm, preceded by Barnyard Games for the kiddos at 5:30pm.

Friday is packed full of events. Livestock shows begin at 8am, with Senior Day Activities from 1-4pm. There will be a Pee Wee Pet and Livestock Show beginning at 2pm giving children 7 and under a chance to show their animals at the fair. The Woolies Lead Line will follow, featuring sheep and their masters acquainting the public with modern sheep production and promoting the use of wool. A Cowboy Mounted Shoot will feature marksmen on their horses at 7pm, and the evening will finish with live music by Medallion and Eric Ziegler at 8pm.

Saturday is the last day of the fair. Festivities include an antique tractor display at 10am, kids day games from 1-5pm, and a draft horse show at 11am. There will be a Tractor and Truck Pull at noon, as well as another truck pull event at 7pm. Several classes will be available. A kid's Pedal Tractor Pull will take place at 4pm, and there will be entertainment under the fair tent beginning at 7pm. The fair will conclude with Justin Heskett Band opening for John D Hale Band at 8:30pm.

Staying true to their tradition and celebration of the community's farming heritage, the fair has a lot to offer for everyone. You can find out more about the events and fair happenings on their Facebook page, or by downloading the PDF of the fair's book publication for the event.
